AND so, after more than six fraught months in South Africa and four long and mostly silent months in a clinic in Europe, Her Serene Highness Princess Charlene of Monaco is finally home.
The 44-year-old slipped back to the principality without much fanfare to be reunited with husband Prince Albert and their seven-year-old twins, Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella – although by all accounts, it will be a while before the world sees her in the full throes of royal duty again.

But a statement released by the Pink Palace indicates she isn’t back to her best yet. She’ll be taking the next few weeks to get stronger before “gradually resuming her official duties and commitments,” the statement says.
“As soon as Her Serene Highness is strong enough she looks forward to once again spending time and socialising with the Monegasques. For now, she still needs peace and calm.”
