WE are in daffodil season, and I for one could not be happier. These ‘large-flowered trumpet narcissus’ (to give them their official title) are a real joy, and for many gardeners they represent the first real patches of colour in the year.

Over the next few weeks try to visit places like Wisley, or Edinburgh Botanics, or 101 other spring gardens where daffodils abound in large drifts.
