As the sun rose over the town of Saint-Girons on 18th July 1995, the Tour de France was preparing for one of the most difficult stages of the race. Stage 15 was a 206km six-headed monster, taking the peloton over the Portet d’Aspet, Menté, Peyresourde, Aspin and Tourmalet on its way to a summit finish at Cauterets.
