WHO KNEW THAT working out the contenders for Britain’s loveliest hilly views would result so much hand-wringing here at TGO?! Beauty may be in the eyes of the beholder, but how could we not include Ben Nevis, An Teallach or Great Gable? When we considered whether the views in question should be from, on, in or of the mountains in question, things became even more vexed. What about Glen Affric, Llyn Padarn or the Wasdale valley?
It should have been obvious – as Brits, we may be known for a good moan along with our warm beer, but one thing we can’t complain about is the sheer variety of the landscape available to us here on our home turf. The choices are endless. There really is something for everyone, and that diversity means no list will ever be definitive.
