DRIVE YOUR TRIUMPH DAY 2022
The 10th of February might seem like an odd date to choose for Drive Your Triumph Day, seeing as how it is midweek. But the idea was spawned by Rye Livingston, Activities Chairman of the Triumph Travelers Sports Car Club in Northern California, arguably the longest active Triumph club in the world having been founded in 1958. For a number of years Rye has encouraged his club members to drive their Triumphs on February 10th to celebrate the birthday of Sir John Black, the man who organized Standard's purchase of Triumph after WW2 and set the company on a course to make the cars we enjoy driving today. The project gained momentum, and in 2021 Rye received over 500 photos from all over the world.
The idea is simple: drive your Triumph, it doesn’t matter how far or to where, then take a photo. If it is winter where you live and the car is in hibernation, or if it is in the middle of a restoration, take a photo of your car in the garage.
