John Cameron Mitchell will forever be known as the creator of Hedwig and the Angry Inch, the movie and musical that became the Rocky Horror Picture Show of its age. After co-writing and starring in the 1998 off-Broadway production, Mitchell directed and starred in the acclaimed 2001 film, starting a lasting cult following that has spawned stage revivals around the world ever since.
