MERCEDES-BENZ RECENTLY DELIVERED A NEW S-class to my door with their equivalent of an Apple Genius at the wheel. His job: to explain the myriad of systems and features in the car, including all those that you can access via an app on your field telephone. While not a complete Luddite, I can’t be doing with all this stuff, and not long after learning how to start it and put it in gear I zoned out and started to ponder whether I should buy a Corvette C3 with a big block or small block and whether a manual or automatic gearbox would be best.
