ROYAL SCOT IN BURY ‘FIRST’ DOUBLE TRIUMPH AS £12M BUCKLEY WELLS DEPOT PLANS APPROVED

The first-ever appearance of LMS 4-6-0 No. 46100 Royal Scot brought crowds flocking to the East Lancashire Railway’s February 25-27 steam gala – helped enormously by glorious sunshine following the devastating storms of recent days.

Royal Scot was joined by a second guest, WR 0-6-0 pannier tank No.1501 from the Severn Valley Railway.

They ran in traffic alongside five members of the home fleet – Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway 0-6-0ST No. 51456 and Class 27 0-6-0 No. 52322, Hudswell Clarke No. 680 of 1903 Manchester Ship Canal No. 32 , Bulleid West Country light Pacific No. and Sentinel 0-4-0VBGT No. 7232 of 1927 .
