YOU MAY HAVE SEEN the story in the papers last month about a 29-year-old man who was found guilty in Chesterfield magistrates’ court for failing to stop after an accident.

Following an evening drinking in several pubs, he crashed into a flock of sheep on his way home, killing 11, leaving behind him what was described as “a scene of utter carnage”. He was banned for driving for six months, told to pay £85 in court costs and a £95 victim surcharge.
