The Resident Evil Series

Seen by many as the gaming series that popularized the zombie genre, Resident Evil has been a mainstay in horror games since 1996. Although the series has had its up and downs, the series recently found its form again with the terrifying Resident Evil 7 and Resident Evil Village. Yet the original Resident Evil is still considered by many as the ultimate zombie game, seeing you take on the living dead in a creepy mansion. Thanks to the HD remake, the first Resident Evil still holds up and is considered a classic in zombie culture. Do yourself a favor and play the newly released Resident Evil 2 and 3 as well to get a sense of what made this series so well-liked amongst the gaming community.
