It wasn’t even listed in the Table of Contents, but exactly 75 years ago this month, CQ readers were introduced to a new columnist: Hashafisti Scratchi. As CQ Publisher Dick Ross, K2MGA, once explained, “for many years, the name Hashafisti Scratchi has been almost synonymous with confusion and consternation in amateur radio. It seems, too, that whenever the unusual or impossible is happening, Scratchi is there helping it happen.”
