A rich history

To commemorate the 150th year of the congregation, Reginald Niebuhr and Kurt Gevers wrote the book 150 Jahre Freie ev. Lutherische Peter-Pauls Gemeinde Lüneburg, which includes the story of the first 18 families that settled the community.

Lüneburgers clearly love festivals. “We also have a school bazaar. It used to be a church bazaar, but we let the school have it. The actors came to our bazaar a few years ago,” Reginald says. “Yes, and Altus [actor Heino Schmitt] attended school here!” Kurt adds.
