    Using 2.25mm needles and the long-tail or thumb method, cast on 60 (68) sts. Divide sts evenly across 4 needles if working with DPNs, and across 2 needles if working with Magic Loop; pm after each 15 (17) sts. Join to work in the round, taking care not to twist sts.

    Note: Slip mrks as you come to them on all rounds. Beginning of round is at centre back of leg.

    Round 1: P2, *K1, P3; rep from * to last 2 sts, K1, P1.

    Round 2: Rep round 1.

    Round 3: P2, *K1B, P3; rep from * to last 2 sts, K1B, P1.

    Rep last 2 rounds twice more, then round 2 once more.

    LEG

    Round 1: P2, *K1B, P3; rep from * to last 2 sts, K1B, P1.

    Round 2: P2, *K1, P3; rep from * to last 2 sts, K1, P1.

    Rounds 3 and 4: Rep rounds 1 and 2 once more.

    Round 5: P2, (K1B, P3) 0 (1) times, K1B, P1, P2tog, open inc, P2tog, P1, (K1B, P3) twice, K1B, P1, P2tog, open inc, P2tog, P1, (K1B, P3) 3 times, K1B, P1, P2tog, open inc, P2tog, P1, (K1B, P3) 3 (4) times, K1B, P1.
