here’s an uncontrived suspense, a latency, within the music of that is ineffably potent. That element makes their compelling conjuring hard to describe. On the surface, with their twinned male/female voices and folk rock stylings, they sound like Richard and Linda Thompson if (Fire) is the fourth album from the Scotland-Lancashire quartet and surely the one to finally woo a bigger audience. Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazlewood swim the blue Nile. Class.
