IRELAND AND WALES DRAW IN DUBLIN

A WELSH team travelled to the National Stadium in Dublin to take on Ireland in an international fixture on Friday (March 4). After 10 contests the match finished a 5-5 draw.

Welsh 71kgs levelled the team score in the last contest with a unanimous victory over . Both worked with their jabs in the centre of the ring. Sotomi moved in and out as Byrne reached for him with his cross. He fired in a solid right hook of his own when they exchanged. The Irishman pressed forward aggressively but Sotomi absorbed the pressure and began to picked out crisp shots over the top. He teed up a left hook and settled into the bout. Byrne clipped him with flurries, but Sotomi slammed in hard single shots to take the win.
