OFF THE GRID

The Spa at One&Only Mandarina RIVIERA NAYARIT, MEXICO

mong the impressive nods to low-impact architecture at One&Only’s Pacific Coast location is the layout of its 2,510-square-metre spa, which was designed around a large white fig tree. Like the rest of the property’s 105 freestanding villas that have been built into the bluffs or sit above the tree canopy on stilts, the spa, which is situated in a volcanic rock garden, follows the natural landscape utilising local clay, cumaru wood. The Mayan sweat lodge combines medicinal herbs, heat, steam and copal incense to stimulate detoxification, heal the body and purify the mind. The spa is also the first destination in the world to feature sustainable skincare pioneer Tata Harper’s Multi-Sensory Wellness Journeys.
