Newcomer Adam). Together they convey the immediate, visceral danger of one refugee’s plight, as Ali’s Kamal crosses the Turkish-Bulgarian border under cover of darkness. With the camera trained resolutely on him, Kamal is beset by ruthless ‘migrant hunters’, bloodhounds and suspicious civilians as he attempts to survive a treacherous journey. Moral lines are blurred and crossed, while resolutions are vague. Despite a slim runtime it’s an engrossing take on a vital subject.
