‘PLANTS EMPOWER US TO BE INDEPENDENT FROM THE SYSTEM’
atricia Domínguez is in the business of resistance. Through her art, community platform Studio Vegetalista and educational projects she is spreading the word about the violent exploitation of land and plants that has been raging in her home of Chile (and more widely in South America) since its European colonisation in the 16th century. Her approach is to celebrate the power of plants to heal us both physically and spiritually, and shine a light on how indigenous knowledge can connect us to that power in ways we can barely conceive.
