On the mark
To the uninitiated there seems to be a bewildering number of classes in all forms of classic motorcycle sport these days. It's been a long time since all one had to do was enter and get out on track.
It doesn't matter what your views on this situation are, the reasons behind it are perfectly valid, thanks to the variety of machinery now available to anyone who does fancy a go at scrambling or motocross. The classic world, which for the purposes of this example will include all manner of years from say 1989 to as far back as the mid-1950s, is all encompassing and the important thing is no matter what era your bike comes from there will be a bunch of similarly addicted enthusiasts to race with and against.
What this can mean is the potential for a traditional British four-stroke in standardish form to come up against a mid-1980s Evo is quite high, unless there are classes and events tailored to each other. Clearly the two perfectly valid extremes highlighted are less than compatible on a track. Yes, I know there will be those who can cope with the mix but for the majority
