A Spanish mission

Clontarf is one of those little-known Sydney enclaves that has to be explained by its proximity to other places: Seaforth – its twin on the other side of the operable Spit Bridge – and Manly, the Bondi of the Northern Beaches.

While the house itself, with its generous footprint and direct access via a steep terraced garden to the beach below, had been recently refurbished it tended towards the rectilinear in structure and a certain blandness and lack of personality in its interior.
