Versatile gas gun
WINCHESTER’S SX4 range of semi-automatic shotguns made by Browning Viana in Portugal, were revealed at the Shot Show in 2017. They’re an upgrade of the SX3 range that has proven popular in the USA with wingshooters and turkey hunters.
The main differences between the two ranges are the controls – a bigger charging handle and a square, instead of round, bolt release button on the SX4. The brass front bead of the SX3 has been replaced with a TRU-GLO fibre-optic bead. The SX4 pistol grip is slimmer, and the safety button and trigger guard are bigger.
The SX4 retains the Inflex recoil pad, but the surface area is slightly larger to dissipate recoil better. The hard chromeplated chamber and bore remain unchanged – a feature that increases resistance to wear.
