Tim Horan is convinced Kiwi players retaining their All Blacks eligibility while playing for Australian teams is the next step for Super Rugby Pacific.

The idea has been floated before but the two-time World Cup-winner now sees this cross-fertilisation of talent across the Tasman as a natural progression.

“Let Kiwi players play in our Aussie teams and Australians play in New Zealand’s teams…open the gates,” Horan, a true Wallabies great, says.

It’s a purely trans-Tasman competition afterall so Test selectors get to judge players equally no matter who they play for. That’s the Horan case
