EDITOR’S LETTER
KIA ORA AND WELCOME TO OUR FIRST NZRW FOR 2022. I hope you enjoyed a relaxing and safe break over summer and hope, even more, that we have a year as free of Covid interruptions as possible. It’s been a crazy two years for all of us and sport has been a bit of a mess so I’m looking forward to calmer times.
And I’m looking forward to Super Rugby and there is no doubt that the introduction of Fijian Drua and Moana Pasifika have sparked much of that interest. I’m worried they will be out of their depth, but they have to start somewhere and as I have written here before, it took the Highlanders, Chiefs and Hurricanes two decades to win a title and many teams have yet to do so - so let’s not judge the new sides too quickly and too harshly.
