It was the mid-1960s when Bryan “Hairy” Thomas spotted local Cambridge youth Phillip Garland driving around in the ex-Terry Furness blue Model A roadster. That sight got him interested in hot rods. A few weeks passed, and he spotted John Allen’s ‘34 Fordor sedan and then Pete Stoddard’s ‘34 Tudor, and that was it. He was, as they say, hooked.
In 1974 Hairy purchased the ‘31-coupe pictured here. It cost him a considerable sum of $220.
