Preparing for your next trip

All round the world nations have been locked down due to the COVID-19 pandemic and many photographers have been struggling with the confinements imposed by multiple lockdowns. But the end is in sight; the world is opening up with high levels of vaccination keeping the virus largely at bay.

Our get-away trips range from excursions as short as a few days to full overseas adventures. The thing about ‘Big Trips’ is they’re not spontaneous get-aways; they have to be planned.

This is where rational analysis comes into play. Not only should you plan where to go; you must also plan what to take on your trip.

Planning your equipment

The first – and most important – rule is don’t purchase new equipment just before you’re about to leave. While it’s tempting to take advantage of tax-free shopping, you really should spend time learning the ins and outs of the equipment before using it to take photos you’ll want to keep.
