Your opening bid of one heart is raised to three by your partner. What would your approach be?
It is unlikely that you will be able to discover sufficient about your partner’s hand to bid a grand slam with confidence, and equally a small slam is likely to be a decent contract wherever partner’s values are. Sometimes it can be better to give away as little as possible and hope for a favourable lead, which was this declarer’s approach when he jumped directly to six hearts.
