Of mice and men

LAST year we failed with three vegetable crops – carrots, runner beans and peas. We sowed them again and again, but they came up and then disappeared overnight – again and again. I must have used six or seven packets of carrot seeds and we still didn’t get many to eat at the end of it all. That’s vegetable growing, folks! Swings and roundabouts.
