Sponsored by Triangle Association of Freelancers (TAF)—whose mission is to network and provide advice, encouragement, and information to independent area writers—this annual spring conference has been packed with dedicated professionals since its launch in 2008.

April 30, 2022. McKimmon Conference and Training Center, N.C. Includes all conference sessions and activities, morning coffee/tea and catered box lunch.   Perfect for writers eager to explore genres and forms outside of their usual writing as it offers concurrent tracks for fiction and nonfiction, with some crossover. “Writers tend to stay in their own sandbox, meaning they have their niche and stick to it,” says Executive Director Maya Spikes. “We provide an opportunity to learn about forms of writing that may be outside an attendee’s current scope, but which they would find of interest if given the chance.” Sessions are geared to both aspiring and experienced writers, with a lot of craft talk. And presenters are open to talking with attendees after their sessions and throughout the event. 100–125.
