I’ve been on sertraline on and off for five years now. I remember the first time I went to the GP. I’d moved away to university and my troubles with anxiety and depression had heightened. I was catastrophising in my thoughts, recklessly overspending, and binge eating. Some days, I would feel so low that I couldn’t physically leave my bed. I felt as though I was being pinned down by depression. It was suffocating. I was prescribed antidepressants immediately.
I was started on citalopram.
