Infrared riflescopes are popular with shooters who don’t want to compromise their concealment with a beam of light when targeting nocturnal pests. While these stealthy optics don’t need a light source in the conventional sense, they do need infrared light and, in most cases, that comes from an infrared illuminator.
Some infrared riflescopes come with an illuminator that is either integral to their design or attached via a mount; others require you to buy one separately.
