Hey guys. So here’s a brand with a pretty long and distinguished track record in the water and wind sports industry. Taking it right back, please tell us what those first initial stirrings of Slingshot were, and how things looked at the time?
Jeff: We were really entrenched into windsurfing as participants and innovators at the time. We also recognized that windsurfing was a pretty mature sport, a lot had been accomplished in that sport. We saw kiting as a huge opportunity to innovate products that would influence riding and the sport as we know it today. A few of us had a beer one evening on the rivers, and we decided to jump in. We’ve never looked back.
And from then, how did the company find its niche and become the Slingshot we know today?
Jeff: We've ascended to new heights over our 20+ year history – a history marked by iconic innovations, legendary athletes, countless podiums, and an enduring passion for advancing our products. Today, Hood River, Oregon, serves as our home and HQ. We design, build and test in some of the world’s most fulfilling and challenging conditions. Our desire to invent and innovate as a team has never been stronger. Now we do it in Wing, Kite, Wake, SUP, Windsurfing, Surf, all with foiling as common denominator. It’s been amazing to participate at every point in the water sports journey.
