This happy accident

This year the game market will take an enormous stride into the future. More than two years ahead of the five-year voluntary phase-out of lead ammunition, game dealers have committed to processing only game harvested with non-lead shot. The move last summer set shoot lunches ablaze with heated talk of the future for game.

The declaration from the dealers came as a surprise to many, including me, but it has the potential to blow the roof off the demand for game. I don’t deny any of the complications in going lead-free, I don’t deny that there is a debate to be had over what the science says about
