Prologue
“As reconstructed, Waterloo Station becomes the largest terminus in Great Britain, and architecturally ranks among the finest station premises. The Victory Arch incorporated in the design, unveiled by Her Majesty Queen Mary, on 21st March, constitutes a notable memento of London & South Western Railway employees who gave their lives in the Great War.”
The Railway Gazette, 24th March 1922
