Why February?

It remains one of the mysteries of MEGA, one of the secrets that founding editor Sari V. Yap never divulged. It’s curious, considering how the beginning of MEGA has been told over and over, so much so that it has developed the patina of mythology. The thesis, chicken farm, the single phone line—each aspect has somehow gained new meaning over the years, used as shorthand among the people in the industry. Yap was a meticulous and strategic woman: she put great importance in higher powers and in every person’s potential for greatness. Many who worked with Yap are inclined to believe that February was chosen for a specific reason. But what that reason is, we don’t know.
