REVERSE DRIVE MERGER
Benefits of the two reverse drive Respiro mergers from Austrian manufacturer Reiter include good visibility of the working units and eliminating driving over the material. Claimed outputs of the R6rd (6.0m) and R7rd (7.0m) are 4.0-8.0ha/hr and 5.0-10ha/hr, respectively.
Suitable for use in grass, alfalfa, hay and straw, the two belts can deposit material to the left or right, or both sides.
The lack of a central swath option not only helps to reduce the complexity but also the weight; the 3.38t R7rd is half that of the 6.40t trailed R9 profi (R6rd weighs 3.15t).
Transport width is 2.4m and height 3.5m (R6) and 4.0m (R7). Standard belt widths are 700mm (R6) and 1.0m (R7 - optional on R6). The belts can be stopped for the last few metres to mop up material in field corners for depositing onto an existing swath.
The pick-up technology is the same as that used on the existing models, but suspension of the two merging units via four springs, two support rollers and an upper link is new. Reiter says the patented solution results in a compact design, brings the centre of gravity close to the tractor and results in good ground contour following. Recommended tractor power is 180hp.
MORE HORSCH CULTROS
The original 3.0m Cultro 3TC double knife roller launched at Agritechnica 2019 has been joined by 5.0m (5TC) and 6.0m (6TC) widths. Both can be front and rear mounted.
Designed to produce an intensive crushing effect on tough stubbles, such as oilseed rape and maize, and to incorporate cover crops at speeds of up to 20km/hr, six knives per roller are arranged across the entire working width and blade angle is adjustable.
The 5.0m and 6.0m models, which fold to 3.0m for transport, are available with a two-bar harrow. They can also be combined with other machines, for example, as a front attachment without a packer and with the disc harrow Joker CT.
The Cultro TC is also available as a rear-mounted 9.0m unit and the fivemodel range peaks with the trailed 12m (7.9t) 12TC. Both fold to 3.0m for transport. Tractor power requirement of all models is said to be
