SIR WALTER SCOTT IN THE HISTORIC ENVIRONMENT SCOTLAND ARCHIVES: HIS STORY IN PICTURES

o mark the 250th anniversary of the birth of Sir Walter Scott, a variety of events and exhibitions took place throughout 2021. At Historic Environment Scotland (HES), we joined in the celebrations by searching our archives for the best images relating to Scott, his works and the buildings that represent his historic interests. These are now presented in an exhibition in the HES search room which will run until the end of September. Elements of this exhibition appear in a feature on the HES website, which also looks at the HES properties most closely associated with Scott and his work, and uses the spoken word to highlight
