Since the pandemic started in March 2020, more than 139,000 people have died in the UK, many of those elderly. As a result, more and more people are finding themselves midlife orphans, having lost their only surviving parent during adulthood.
But once the initial condolences are over, many feel uncomfortable sharing their emotions, in part, owing to the lack of sympathy surrounding the death of an elderly relative.
The attitude that they had a ‘long life’ or that it was ‘their time to go’ shouldn’t take away from
