TO have a shady garden is not such a tragedy as many gardeners think, for there are many attractive plants that grow happily in shade.
Because the accepted place for a herbaceous border is in full sun, we put all our herbaceous plants in it, although many of them would be just as happy with a little shade and some prefer it. Campanulas will grow in shade, and will even increase and flower well in arid var. . ‘Superba’ has taller flower stems and deeper flowers, while ‘Joan Elliott’ and ‘Purple Pixie’ are good dwarfs.
