Proving she’s a natural fit to take over from the Duke of Sussex as patron of both the Rugby Football Union and the Rugby Football League, sporty Kate threw herself into the action as she joined England’s men and women player straining on the hallowed turf.

The patronages mark the start of a new chapter for the monarchy, as she and other senior royals take on more responsibilities at the start of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee year.
