She may have written a cookbook but Kate Humble is far from being a domestic goddess, she’s keen to point out. In fact, the TV presenter, best known for her outdoorsy wildlife programmes, almost brought her marriage to its knees while compiling some of her favourite recipes to a tight deadline.
“I was completely vile to live with throughout the entire process,” she admits. “I was horrible. I get totally obsessed. I’d have done anything to take myself away from polite society for a month, sit in a little cabin in the Welsh hills with my dog, and write. But I couldn’t because I was filming and it was lockdown.
“The irony was that I was writing this bloody cookbook and I
