Making history as the first British monarch to reign for 70 years, the Queen has renewed her 1947 pledge to her people “that my life will always be devoted to your service”.
In a moving message to mark her amazing milestone, Her Majesty paid tribute to her family and late husband, the Duke of Edinburgh, and said she looked forward to “continuing to serve you with all my heart”.
And in a significant move, she publicly backed the Duchess of Cornwall to take on the role of Queen Consort when her reign comes to an end.
