IF YOU WERE ASKED to name the most significant changes you have seen in the shooting field during your lifetime, what would they be?
The sport of shooting, like almost everything else, has changed considerably during the past half a century. When I started shooting, nearly everyone shot with a 12-bore side-by-side. Over-and-under shotguns were still rare and mistrusted, while 20-bores were strictly guns for ladies. The standard clothing was a waxed Barbour, as none of the modern, high-tech garments we now take for granted had been invented.
