The increased sophistication of cybercriminals is becoming very costly for South African agribusinesses, according to Francois Strydom, chairperson of Agbiz.
“Cybercrime has been part of the agribusiness risk matrix for several years,” Strydom told. “A lot of time and money are spent on mitigation, but unfortunately the sophistication of the attacks is constantly increasing.” This was in line with the experience of international businesses, according to the 11th international Allianz Risk Barometer.
