Winter is here—just look at the mauna (mountains); but spring is on its way, and discussion of the Hilo Trollers 2022 tournament season has begun. If past practices are followed, the earliest possible tournament would be held on Sunday, May 1. Given safety concerns over the new COVID outbreak, the club’s board of directors is delaying making firm plans. The Hilo Trollers will follow all state and county protocols. While social distancing is possible for anglers, it may not be possible for observers or for crowds that might come to watch the weigh-in at Suisan, which is a public place.
