Wonky SANCTUARY

“The great thing about InsideOut is you’re not just a number to them. They’re really responsive and help out all the time.”

Boredom can be a powerful motivator. When Molybaron frontman and creative driving force Gary Kelly moved from his native Ireland to Paris just over a decade ago, he had no plans to make music. But when he found himself regularly at a loose end, with little to occupy his time beyond his job as a graphic designer, the logical choice was to return to his teenage hobby.

“I’d stopped playing guitar when I was about 19. I. I still had my guitar there, but I didn’t touch it for years. So when I arrived in Paris, I decided to pick it back up. I answered an ad in some mag for a death metal band. They were looking for a guitarist, I joined that band, and you know what? It rekindled my love for the guitar; I remembered why I’d loved it in the first place. I was playing other people’s music and I was kind of getting bored doing that. In the meantime I was working on the first Molybaron album, just writing it in the background.”
