An escape to Norfolk

Many a family holiday when the children were young was spent visiting the harbours and ports of the Norfolk coast by land, with a few members of the family daydreaming of visiting by boat. Accusations of ‘You’re not with us’ only confirmed that whilst crabbing or sandcastle building was in progress, calculation of depths, prospective anchorages and beachings was also in full flow.

We had planned to cruise the south west a bit nearer to our home port of Shotley, Ipswich. John’s mobility was impaired and he’d lost the use of his right arm, so several day sails ensued and some modifications were made to ensure he was up to the voyage.
