Cover-ups can hide a multitude of sins – just ask anyone with a make-up bag – but they can also be used to highlight features that need a ‘little help’. The same can be said for our homes. Every one of them, new or old, is far from perfect. A bad plaster job, cracked render or even dated brickwork can be expensive issues to fix, so sometimes it’s better to hide a sin than to deal with the real issues underneath (I’m purely speaking about homes here).
