PRIORITISE STAMINA

DEPENDING on the type of discipline a horse is competing in, most riders will be looking to maintain a degree of stamina for multiple rounds or stay-over shows.

“Nearly every performance horse will require a degree of stamina to complete what is being asked of him on the day. But it’s also important that he remains able not only to perform at his best throughout the season, but also recover,” explains Saracen Horse Feeds’ senior registered nutritionist, Lizzie Drury. “The choice of feed selected will also depend upon the individual horse’s temperament.”
