Wild at heart

When you first enter Hannah Jensen’s studio, you are instantly struck with the spectacle of enormous canvas works of wild animals. A leopard with real fur stares with eyes that draw you in. A roaring polar bear sits alongside an ape that springs out at you from the canvas. In the opposite corner, a kudu intently watches you, his horns spiralling high above. They are magical, and a little sad given they represent animals under extreme threat of extinction.

This passion for the wild stems from Jensen’s visit to South Africa, where she spent time trying to connect with a father she didn’t
