How can I stop overspending?

Q I’m dreading our Christmas credit card bill. After a tough year, I let loose and I’m now dreading to see how much I spent. I can’t help overspending!

A If you want to stop overspending, think about why you do it. Are you an emotional spender, when stressed or happy? Does it depend on the situation, if you are out with friends, passing your favourite shops or pressed for time? Once you identify your triggers, you can put processes in place to stop. For example, if you spend when you’re stressed, substitute a bath, book or box
